Duke with a Strong First Half Puts Away Wake Forest
Dukes fourth win in the ACC looked to be the strongest yet as they overtook the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Durham. The Blue Devils were led by forward Ryan Kelly who had 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds off the bench. Seth Curry played a major role in the 1st half outburst for Duke where they led Wake Forest 45-32. He had 21 points for the game. Duke shot 54% from the field and a staggering 48% from downtown. Also the key player in Dukes run was guard Andre Dawkins who had 7 three pointers, for 21 points for the game. Duke dominated the glass as they out-rebounded the Demon Deacons by 11. This win for Duke puts them at 16-2 for the year and 4-0 in the ACC. Currently they are ranked 4 in the nation which would qualify them for a number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Duke has an underrated Florida State team at home next on Saturday January 21st. Florida State is led by senior forward Bernard James. The loss for the Demon Deacons puts them at 10-8 for the year and drops them to 1-3 in the ACC. They have to face Boston College in Boston on Saturday.
