Duke Holds on as they defeat Washington

Duke, who had a strong first half lead of 14 points, could not seem to finish the Huskies this past Saturday at Madison Square Garden. Washington had a late second half surge led by Troy Wroten off the bench who paced the Huskies with 23 points. Duke was led by freshman Austin Rivers and guard Andre Dawkins who had 35 points combined. Also Ryan Kelly of Duke provided a spark with 16 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Duke predominantly throughout the game, mostly the starters only saw good minutes. Austin Rivers this whole season has continued to be a force on offense. Duke held the block advantage as they will most likely hold all year with 7 blocks to Washington’s 0. Duke is now 9-1 on the year and was ranked 5 in the country, but with Kentucky and Ohio State losing, Duke looks to jump into the top 3.
